The population of Ukraine is about 41 million people. Ukraine has a diverse economy, with strengths in agriculture, manufacturing, and energy. The official language is Ukrainian, and Russian is widely spoken, especially in eastern and southern regions.

Healthcare expenditure accounts for about 7-9% of the national budget. The pharmaceutical market is valued at approximately $3.5 billion, with a significant reliance on imports, especially from European and Russian markets. The medical devices market is estimated at around $800 million.

Medicines and medical devices must be registered with the Ministry of Health.
