The population of Kyrgyzstan is about 6.7 million people. It is a mountainous country in Central Asia with a developing economy, largely dependent on agriculture, mining, and remittances. The official language is Kyrgyz, but Russian is widely used in business and government sectors.
Healthcare expenditure accounts for about 12% of the national budget. The pharmaceutical market is valued at approximately $300 million, with imports comprising over 85%. The medical devices market is smaller but expanding, estimated at $50 million.
Importation of pharmaceuticals and medical devices requires state registration through the authorized body.
