Kazakhstan

The population of Kazakhstan is about 19 million people. It is one of the largest countries in Central Asia and is rich in natural resources, particularly oil, gas, and minerals, which significantly contribute to its economy. The official languages are Kazakh and Russian. Russian is widely spoken and remains the primary language for business and government operations.

Kazakhstan allocates around 10% of its budget to healthcare. The pharmaceutical market is valued at approximately $1.5 billion, with imports accounting for 90% of this market. The market for medical devices and diagnostics equipment is growing rapidly, valued at over $500 million.

Importation of medicines and medical devices requires state registration and a Marketing Authorization. Special food products, perfumes, and cosmetics are regulated by the authorized body.
